T-lawns across the UK
Here is a selection of some past and present T-lawn projects from around the UK.
Most are 'home-made' versions created by gardeners inspired by the concept and wanting to do more with their lawns.
I hope these different stages of development photos give you some inspiration to have a go yourself and start your very own T-lawn project. Just like gardens, there are no 'perfect' T-lawns.
There is a specific 'How to make one' section and valuable pointers on the right kind of plants to use in that book of mine that I shamelessly keep plugging.
But, fair warning - at this moment in time some of the right type of plants can be hard to find. Lawn-worthy plants and their forms are not particularly common in garden centres or plant nurseries (yet), and T-lawns are certainly not the cheap option; using commercially raised plants inevitably costs more than turf or grass seed.
I am very pleased to have T-lawn owners share their experiences and images of their lawns and lawn gardening with me.
If you are up for sharing pics, please e-mail info@tapestrylawns.co.uk and note your permission to use them.
You never know, if we keep asking for them, together we gardeners might just persuade the currently somewhat reluctant horticulture industry to grow some 'weeds' for us in a lawn-useful way, and help spark that lawn evolution that we, our gardens, and garden wildlife could all benefit from!

There are other projects out there, not all in the UK:
If there are any plant nurseries/growers that feel they might be able to supply T-lawn plants, I would very much like to hear from you.
I have many people asking where they can obtain ready-made T-lawns and T-lawn plants, and simply not enough plant sources/quantity to fulfill the interest.
